| There
is a lot to do at Salotalo. You can ramble along the guided nature
trail, which passes through surrounding forests. Along the trail
you can exercise on the equipment provided, or pick berries and mushrooms.
On the Salotalo site there is an outdoor volleyball
and badminton court and there is plenty of room for other games as well. |

 |
You can
row out onto Lake Hanhijärvi with Salotalo’s rowboat. Take one
of the fishing rods with you, as Ahti, the ancient Finnish water-god, might
be feeling generous!
You can dive into the lake to cool off on
a sweltering summer afternoon. Or test your mettle and go swimming
in the winter through a hole in the frozen lake! |
| To round
off your day you can relax in one of the saunas. In summer you can
enjoy Finland’s famous Midsummer Sun, and spend the evening sitting around
a campfire with good company and good food.
Salotalo food is prepared from local ingredients.
For example the bread, meats and cheeses are bought from local bakeries,
smoke houses and dairies.

| Although Salotalo is surrounded by the peace
and quiet of forests, it is close enough to civilisation that you can spend
the day somewhere else, returning to Salotalo for the night. We recommend
