Salotalo’s main building is an old crofter’s cottage with a living room, bedroom and kitchen.  A rustic dining table is at the centre of the farmhouse-style living room and the cottage is heated all year round by the large stone fireplace.  There are two beds in the bedroom and in the living room, and space for ten more guests on the living room floor.

Electricity is provided by solar power, but a more cosy atmosphere can be achieved with candles or oil-burning lamps.  As well as to the wood-burning stove in the kitchen, there is also a small gas stove.

The two outbuildings provide additional accommodation during the summer.  What used to be a timber barn now sleeps up to 20 people, with five beds on the main floor, ten up in the loft and room for five mattresses on the floor.

Built at the same time as the main building, across the way is the other outbuilding.  It has two rooms, each with four beds.  One of the rooms also has a cot making it suitable for families.

Set apart from the other crofter’s buildings, the honeymoon suite is a beautiful little log cabin.  Perfect for a romantic summer night, it is even cosier in the winter when heated by the small iron stove.

Guests can also sleep in the Lapp-style hut, the lean-to or in the room adjacent to the regular sauna.
